  • bulky items
  • cooking oil
  • electrical appliances (anything with a plug or batteries)
  • engine oil
  • fluorescent tubes (including energy-saving light bulbs)
  • garden waste
  • gas cylinders
  • glass bottles and jars
  • plasterboard
  • polystyrene expanded (EPS) (please break up any large lengths of polystyrene before taking this to the household recycling centre)
  • rubble and ceramics
  • rigid plastic (laundry baskets, buckets, toys, plant pots, drainage pipes and hard hats)
  • scrap metal
  • soil and turf
  • textiles
  • vapes
  • wood (including treated)
  • non-recyclable waste
  • re-use charitable goods

Items for reuse

This household recycling centre also accepts certain pre-loved items so that they can be rehomed by a local charity. These include:

  • bicycles
  • electrical items with all parts and plug
  • footwear
  • furniture with a fire-retardant label
  • garden furniture and equipment
  • general household items (bric-a-brac)
  • sports equipment
  • toys

What you can collect

You can collect the following recycling equipment from the centre:

  • Pre-sort items at home to make your visit faster and easier.
  • Bring household waste only – we do not accept trade waste.
  • Arrive in the vehicle you registered when booking.
  • New automated barriers using cameras with automated number plate recognition system to check your booking are being commissioned at the recycling centres. Please stop at the barrier and wait for it to open. Site staff will be available to resolve any issues.
  • Be safe when on site – obey the speed limit and site signage, keep your distance from staff and other site users, and follow instructions given by site staff.
  • Stay in your vehicle until you have parked up on site.
  • Any children and animals should remain inside your vehicle during your visit.
  • Unload the vehicle yourself as site attendants cannot assist you (only one adult should unload the car, unless two adults are needed for heavy items).
  • Follow instructions given by site staff about which skips materials should be put into.
  • Always treat our site staff with respect. Abuse towards site staff will not be tolerated and the police will be informed.
