Greg Welsh, Campaigns Lead, said
“The project aim is to turn a muddy field into a productive and wildlife friendly space for the community, providing home grown veg and enjoyable gardening activities.
“We are inviting local groups and individuals to get involved in community gardening days or take on their own small plot. We have just planted up our first bed with potatoes and are halfway through constructing a polytunnel.
“Volunteers will benefit from coming together, connecting with the natural environment, learning about cycles of growth through the seasons and where food comes from” Anyone who would like to take part please contact ssinger@aberdeenshirenorth.foodbank.org.uk for more information.
