Upgrade to the existing Netherton Hub site access located off the A950

During October, SSEN Transmission and Principal Contractor Balfour Beatty will carry out an upgrade to the existing site access located off the A950, at the north-east corner of the site.

Over four consecutive weekends, the works will involve installing a new culvert, associated ditch realignments and a new bellmouth entrance. This will be followed by resurfacing, the application of road markings and the installation of traffic signs.

Traffic management

Please refer to the traffic management drawings overleaf. A lane closure, operated under two-way temporary traffic signals, will be in place during each weekend of the works. These arrangements are required to ensure the safety of both the workforce and road users, while allowing construction activities to be carried out within the working area. Please note that the traffic management will
remain in place 24-hours a day throughout each weekend closure.

Working hours

The works are scheduled to take place over four consecutive weekends in October 2026:

• Weekend 1 – 3 & 4 October
• Weekend 2 – 10 & 11 October
• Weekend 3 – 17 & 18 October
• Weekend 4 – 24 & 25 October

• Saturdays: 07:00 – 18:00
• Sundays: 07:00 – 18:00
