New Temporary 40mph Speed Limits
Temporary 40mph speed limits to support safe travel around Netherton Hub
As part of ongoing works associated with the Netherton Hub, temporary 40mph speed limits will be introduced on sections of the A950 and nearby local roads in the Longside area.
The measures have been approved by Aberdeenshire Council and are being introduced to help maintain the safety of road users and project teams during construction activities.
The temporary restrictions will apply from Wednesday, 23 September 2026 and the affected roads are:
- U63b, from its junction with the A950 southwards to the C38b near Stockbridge Farm
- C38b, between the U63b and C56b junctions
- C56b, from its junction with the A950 southwards beyond its junction with the C38b.
Please view the attached map for more information. The existing 40mph temporary speed limit on the A950 will remain in place.

The speed limits are being introduced in response to local representation and requests. Speed limit signage will be installed across the affected routes w/c Monday 21 September ahead of the restrictions coming into force.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents, businesses and road users while these measures are in place.
