Peterhead Community Groups Invited to Have Their Say on the Town’s Future Regeneration Plan
The Peterhead Neighbourhood Board is inviting local community groups to share their views on the UK Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods to help shape the town’s 10-year government funded regeneration plan, due to start in 2026, and ensure it reflects the needs of the whole community, capturing input from a wide range of voices.
Each community group can apply for up to £1000 to organise events and activities over the summer that will help the Board to connect with the local community and gather as much feedback as possible.

The Board is particularly keen to hear from Peterhead Community Groups working with people aged 18–24 or those aged 65 and over. Funds will also be prioritised to those groups active in the following areas:
- Gadle Braes
- Buchanhaven
- Town Centre (including Longate, Broad Street, Jamaica Street)
- New Housing Developments off West Road / Longside Road
- Roseberry Drive, St Kilda Avenue & Fair Isle Crescent
- Towerhill and Burnhaven
All local charities, community groups, voluntary organisations, and sports clubs are invited to apply to take part as long as they are active in Peterhead.
James Buchan, Chair of the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board, said the goal was to create more conversation in the community around areas for improvement.
He said, “We have had a very good response from our engagement activities so far, with many people giving us feedback in person and through surveys. We now want to fill the gaps in the feedback from those people who may not have attended one of our events or seen the surveys. Everyone should have a chance to tell us what they think to ensure that our regeneration plan is as inclusive as possible.”
Organisations that need support can be put in touch with the SURF Alliance for Action Community Facilitator who already has a presence in the town.
Local community Peterhead Community Groups who want to take part should click here for an application form and guidance. The deadline for the first round of applications closes on Monday 28th July, 2025. A second round of applications will open if funding remains available and there are groups still interested in being involved in engagement.
