The pyrotechnic device caused damage to an area of grass close to the skate park.

Officers were called to the Aalesund Road area on Tuesday evening at around 9.20pm after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a van.

The driver left the scene and a 33-year-old man was treated by paramedics.

Two men, aged 57 and 62, have so far been arrested in connection with the incident, and police say further enquiries are currently ongoing.
