Leisure Link partnership broadens its new horizons to include Aberdeenshire
The Leisure Link partnership broadens its horizons now join Highland, Angus, Argyll and Bute, the Borders, Moray, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles
A partnership initiative which allows members of fitness schemes across seven Scottish regions to access local facilities in these areas at no extra cost, has welcomed a new partner with Live Life Aberdeenshire coming on board.
Instigated by High Life Highland in 2019, the Leisure Link partnership means that when people are on holiday or working away from home, members from participating areas can use local facilities for free as part of their existing home based membership.
From tomorrow (Saturday, June 1), Live Life Aberdeenshire now join Highland, Angus, Argyll and Bute, the Borders, Moray, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles in the Leisure Link family, adding 17 new sites to the extensive list of facilities which people from across the partnership regions can enjoy.
High Life Highland Chief Executive Steve Walsh said: “On behalf of the other partners across the country, I am delighted to welcome Live Life Aberdeenshire to the Leisure Link partnership. This collaboration gives leisure members and their families even greater flexibility to use their leisure cards at various sites right across Scotland, and all at no extra cost.”
Cllr Anne Stirling, Chair of Aberdeenshire Council Communities Committee, added: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our members the opportunity to keep active at leisure facilities across the country. This flexibility means that people working away from home or on holiday can use local facilities from participating areas as part of their existing home-based membership.”
The Leisure Link Partnership Scheme is administered by High Life Highland, a culture and leisure charity operating across The Highland Council area.
Live Life Aberdeenshire delivers the sports and cultural services of Aberdeenshire Council.
Those making use of the scheme are asked to check directly with the site they are planning to visit for information and details of any advanced booking required.
