A man has been taken to hospital following a single-car Peterhead accident

Resident reported to the Facebook page about Peterhead Accident – Part road closed – can still turn off into Meethill place, air ambulance just landed in Clerkhill school. Think the whole road may get closed more n more emergency services arriving.

Emergency services were alerted to an incident involving a blue Ford Fiesta on the Meethill Road at around 11am.

One fire appliance was also deployed from the Peterhead station at around 11.15am to assist.

A 78-year-old man is in a critical condition at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after a one vehicle crash.

Part of Meethill Road in the town was closed off with diversions in place early this afternoon following the road traffic accident.

Police are appealing for information following a Peterhead accident on Meethill Road.

The crash, reported around 11AM, on Wednesday, 17 August, 2022, involved a single vehicle, a blue Ford Fiesta.

Emergency services attended and the 78-year-old male driver and sole occupant was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as critical.

The road remains closed to allow enquiries to be carried out.

Road Policing Sergeant Steve Manson said: “Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, who has not already spoken to police, to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and saw the vehicle prior to the incident or who has dash-cam footage which may assist to get in touch.”
