Park Lane is one of the ancient streets in Peterhead, one of five lanes which ran from the Longait to the Seagait
One of Peterhead’s most ancient streets, named after the family of James Park, merchant and shipowner, who lived in the upper part of this lane in the early 18th century.

During the 1715 Jacobite Rising, in his attempt to gain the British throne, James Stuart, the son of King James VII of Scotland & II of England and father of Bonnie Prince Charlie, landed at Peterhead on 22 December 1715
and stayed a night at James Park’s house.
