Aberdeenshire Libraries are delighted to share their Book Week Scotland 2025 programme, running from 17–22 November. This year’s theme celebrates the power of friendship through books, stories, and shared experiences.
Part of this year’s programme has been funded by the Scottish Library and Information Council and the Scottish Book Trust.
Events range from cosy and gritty crime fiction talks to family storytelling, creative writing, and children’s events, the week offers something for readers and story lovers of all ages.
A sample of the programme highlights taking place on Saturday, the 22nd November, includes:
- A creative writing workshop with Emily Utter invites adults and teens to explore the theme of friendship through their own words in a relaxed, supportive setting.
- Lydia Travers, author of Edwardian-era cosy crime mysteries, will share insights into her captivating series featuring a sharp-witted amateur female detective.
- Family storytelling sessions with renowned Aberdeenshire storytellers Grace Banks and Pauline Cordiner, bringing tales of friendship and wonder to young audiences.
