SEPA an Issued New Flood Alert Has Been on 11 June

New Flood Alert Has Been on 11 June

A New Flood Alert has been issued for Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City due to Heavy thundery showers during Sunday

Heavy thundery showers during Sunday could cause flooding impacts from surface water and small watercourses. Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network.

Impacts may include flooding to properties and businesses, disruption to travel and infrastructure and danger to life due to fast flowing water.

Due to the localised nature of the heaviest showers, impacts may be isolated, with not all locations being affected. The west of the area is at greater risk of experiencing showers.

If you are in an affected area and are in danger and need assistance, call emergency responders. Take great care if you are travelling.

The risk of flooding from main rivers is low, as river flows are expected to remain in bank.

SEPA
will monitor the situation closely and provide further information when available.

Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.  Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.

This new FLOOD ALERT is now in force until further notice and was sent by phone and sms free of charge to registered customers of our Floodline direct warning service.  If you haven’t already signed up to receive free flood messages, please call Floodline or register online at sepa.org.uk/floodingsignup.
