Major Building Work at Cruden Bay Post Office Will Take Longer & New Temp Mobile Post Office Solution & changes to the current opening hours at Potterton, Newburgh and Pitmedden.

Cruden Bay Post Office is short-term temporarily closed for major building work to extend the premises at Main Street, Cruden Bay, Peterhead, AB42 0NA.

The branch closed on Saturday 27 September for building work for an extension for a new convenience store to be added. There will be an open-plan counter alongside the retail counter.

Originally, we had announced that the branch would open on 4 December, however, now it is anticipated that it will take a lot longer and the branch is now due to open at some point in January.

To maintain service we are introducing a Mobile Post Office service which will visit every Thursday from 12.45- 1.45pm until the new-look branch is ready to open. This service begins this Thursday (2/10). The Mobile Post Office will stop in Main Street close to the existing branch.

This interim service will be provided by the postmaster for Turriff, who already operates a Mobile Post Office service in the area. To accommodate the extra stop there will be some changes to the current opening hours at Potterton, Newburgh and Pitmedden.

David Duff, Post Office Area Change Manager, said: “We are pleased to be able to provide an interim Mobile Post Office in Cruden Bay whilst the building work and refurbishment take place. We want to thank the postmaster for Turriff for adding Cruden Bay to the route of the existing Mobile Post Office that they operate which allows us to maintain a temporary part-time service within this community, or there are full-time services elsewhere.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work. The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily. The community will benefit from a modern convenience store and Post Office after the work is done.”

Thursday 12:45 – 13:45	There is a step into the Mobile vehicle, however an electronic tailgate is available to facilitate easy access for wheelchair users and those with disabilities. Parking will be available close to where the mobile van will be parked.
