This bridge carries a public road A90 over the River Ugie.
The bridge spans the River Ugie, carrying the two lanes of traffic of the A90 to or from Peterhead to the south or St Fergus to the north.
Existing bridge is that built in 1688 it was then known as the Inverugie bridge, officially it is now the Balmoor bridge, but locally it is called the Chain brig.
